I'm a blog hopper too

I'm going to admit I am a bit of a snoop. When I am bored and I have read all the updated posts of the blogs I follow, I blog hop. I read some of the blogs on other people's blog rolls. I go back to posts I haven't followed links on, and I follow those links. When those don't suit me, I go to my blog, and at the top I click on "Next Blog". It takes me to the blogs of a variety of people, some pretty cool, other's kinda lame, and even other's ones I can't read due to them being written in a foreign language (BTW, does anyone know how to combat that? Is there any way to just get random English written blogs?) One thing that bugs me about this "random" blog hopping method is that I get some of the same blogs over and over sometimes more than 3 times in a "hopping session". And they are mostly ones I didn't want to read in the first place! I haven't found anything of note hopping this way, although I have found a few blogs from people living in Utah and I have hopped around there some (notice I said some, most of the Utah blogs I have found are pretty much the opposite of the things I am interested in, and are all the same). One of my favorite new blogs is one I found from White Trash Mom and her recent "Whiskey Tango" Tuesday post. The Blogess is so funny in a very irreverent* way. I don't know why I haden't found her until now. She's going up on my "blogroll" since I feel like I've got to share her with you guys! *disclaimer...irreverent=crude, crass & cussy, very cussy! I also started reading a blog by clicking on a link under the "More From BlogHer" title you find on all blogs that belong to BlogHer. (It's a great way to find new blogs to read, and know that if they are featured, more than just one person is reading them, so they must be worth it to check them out. ) House of Clams is pretty good, and Tracy Glisson uses the clam theme throughout her blog. I think I'll read it every day, but not sure if I'll put it on my blogroll, I guess you'll just have to wait and see! So, blog hopping can find you some great new blogs to read....and be a wonderfully rewarding way to waste time!

I've seen Blogess mentioned on some of Dooce's posts. I know I've checked out her blog before, but I don't recall exactly why I don't read it on a regular basis. But I do the same thing - check out other blogs but usually just those that people on my blogroll read or links from other blogs. But I'm glad that if you find something interesting, you'll let us all know about it.

Okay, first of all, "crass and crude". That's...well actually that's totally me. And thank you...you made me all blushy.

Ps. Katie, I can pretty much guarantee that Dooce has never mentioned me on her blog but you are a darling to think that I'm that popular. :)

I call it blog stalking...and I totally do it. I have read the WT one before (I think I linked from your blog...which I linked from Katie's)...I can't believe she commented....ooooh, how exciting. Although, I have to say that I am sometimes afraid to list new ones on my blog roll thing, you know in case someone might find out I'm a stalker. :)

Janice-
I was excited Jenny commented here too....when I first started reading it, I am afraid I had offended her! So glad I didn't!
I left a comment on her blog about me being a partial lurker...so she knows I'm there. She knows alright....

I must have had Bloggess confused with someone else then...my bad.

Now I know why I thought Dooce mentioned the Bloggess...she did, just not by name. Dooce wrote about the so-called "drama" at the Blogher convention and here's one person's perspective on what transpired:
