I am a braggart!

So I guess it is about time to let you know how Colin is doing in Kindergarten. He seems to be doing really well, no notes home from the teacher, his work looks pretty good (if only he'd do his homework when we ask) and every time anyone (most specifically Katie) asks him how school was he says "Awesome"! Today he was the class "V.I.P." He told me this consisted of being his teacher's helper by taking stuff to the office, holding the door open for his classmates and passing out papers. He also answered questions from his classmates so they could get to know him better. One of the questions they asked was "How do you like to help your Mom?" his answer "I like to do laundry". Now, he doesn't normally help my with laundry duties, (yes, I said duties) because I am a little picky sometimes, so I usually just do it on my own. He has on occasion helped me sort (it's an easy way for kids to learn their colors) and has even helped me put it into the washer. I didn't realize how much fun he had doing it, I guess I will have to let him help me more often! So, I guess I am here to say I am a little proud of my son, he is growing up so fast, and doing things I didn't think he would be able to handle. I hope I'll be able to handle that!

I'm so happy every time he tells me school was "awesome." He's off to a great start. And you should be proud to "brag" about him!

Sometimes we don't notice the effect our small actions have on others. That is sweet that Colin remembers helping you with the laundry.

That is great to hear. I'm glad that he is enjoying school so much. I think it's important for kids to learn to love school early.
